Healthy Sleep Environment (cont.)

Your mattress plays a key role in how well you sleep and should provide ideal comfort and support.

  • Is your mattress large enough?  Moving to a larger mattress would help solve the problem for those sleeping with someone who “hogs” the mattress or someone who tosses and turns all night. 
  • Is it firm enough? Experiment with different levels of mattress firmness.  Foam toppers or egg crate toppers can help provide more support, especially for those with back or neck problems.

The mattress you have been using for years may have exceeded its life expectancy – about 9 or 10 years for most good quality mattresses.
